Dr Gary Chapman - The Five Love Languages - it's a book that looks at the way couples communicate w/ each other through their own love language. easy read, but rather profound at the same time....
JRR Tolkein - The Lord of the Rings - i'm up to the last book within book 2.
Katherine Frank - Indira: The Life of Indira Nehru Gandhi - just started.... should be interesting.

Did anyone see that retrospective on Jules Vern on Sunday night on the ABC. Ive read a few of his books and loved them including "Journey to center of the Earth" Now I just want to find his entire collected works if there is such a thing. The guys imagination was just in overdrive but he backed it up with incredible research.
On the total other end of the spectrum im reading the autobiography of David Lee Roth. "Crazy from the Heat". Very funny and readable, right up there with Motley Crues' "The Dirt"

'stupid white men' was fantastic and terrifying. For any Bill Bryson fans out there you must read tony hawks (not the skater! - the english comedian) 'round Ireland with a fridge' and' playing the Moldovan's at tennis' - the funniest stuff I've ever read. I'm trying a bit more Bill Bryson now but it's not the same. I might have to revert to reading fear and loathing in las vegas for the twentieth time.

Just finished the promoters.........good read. Funny how Tim Pittman or especially Steve Pav aren't really mentioned (unless Pav is the guy mentioned that keeps going bankrupt, then coming back again and again). I've heard some good stories about the Nirvana tour he did though.

haven't read the promoters yet, but it'd be a good read for sure.
It'd have to be Pav - tho I think he and Waterfront made dollars from the Nirvana tour because they were originally booked to play places like the Lansdowne etc for a small guarantee, then the venues got bigger and more dates added and bigger crowds. Any mention of him l;osing lotsa dollars from his hotel room on the first Mudhoney tour?? I've lost count how many times Steve Pavlovic reinvents his promotions label (and yes he ripped us off too!!)
