and can u recommend it?
me: KISS - love gun, dressed to kill, hotter than hell SILVERCHAIR - neon ballroom (this really is a great album and i used to hate this band) THUMLOCK - sojourns (brilliance of course) FRONT END LOADER - how can we fail...., last of the V8 interceptors, lets ride! (i really recommend these 3 albums - a real shame this band doesnt get the recognition they deserve. especially when a band like the giants of science (who i love) are going places but they sound alot like what FEL were doing 10 years ago) FORTE - tripping... (love momentum) CHRIS ISAAK - speak of the devil

, 1. Underfoot/Snakes and Ladders - DROPPING HONEY (One of my favourite Wollongong bands www.droppinghoney.com check it out!!!) 2. Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain - ALIEN SEX FIEND 3. Munki - JESUS AND MARY CHAIN (Before The Dandy Warhols and before BRMC there was...) 4. How To Pay Your Debts Whaen You're a Genius - HEE HAW (keep an eye out for this one, freaky arse dark rock, think The Birthday Party, Bauhaus, Joy Division...very fucking cool), out August I think I managed to scam an advance copy (It's not what you know its...) 5. Blood Money - TOM WAITS (This one sounds great when your so drunk that the nearest surface is the only thing holding you up or has 5-6 fat lines...) 6. High Octane - MONSTROUS BLUES ( recently rediscovered this yet again. If you don't have it you fucking should be ashamed of yourself or shouldn't be here at all) Thats all I can think of my brain hurts, went to Annandale to see HEE HAW, MONSTROUS BLUES & POD PEOPLE last night the bands rocked, the lights rocked, the P.A. rocked, the crowd...clapped politely yet enthusiastically after each song. Welcome to Pretentiousville...I mean Sydney great rock shows week after week but the crowds here are too cool for school and fucking piss me off. Everyone knows the bands rock out much more when the crowd does as well...Oh well great show anyhow. I'm off to see Dropping Honey to night at the Varna Room but I also have the choice of El Sanchez and Forte at Excelsior... "Freedom of Choice is what you want. Freedom of choice is what you got" - DEVO...

High on Fire - The Art of.../Surrounded by Thieves (I love this band) Soilent Green - A Deleted Symphony... (These guys are doing metal like it's never been done before, absolutley brutal yet intriguing as hell) Beaver - Mobile/Lodge (Both excellent albums and what an awesome band) Shellac - Terraform (The new Fugazi or something. I dunno, it blows my mind and is cruisey yet angry - awesome) Masters of Reality - Welcome to the Western Lodge (I love this album, need to get more of their stuff) Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies (so funky, so cool, wild, trippy and interesting - best Hendrix IMHO) Orange Goblin - Coup de Grace (Every Goblin album is their best and I love 'em all) Mondo Generator - Cocaine Rodeo (One of my fav's, especially for a 'solo' album. Great variety, fun and thoughtful punk!?!?) Symbiosis - Biscuit'n'Blues demo (local band I recorded and love - if you live in Melbourne check 'em out) Dooba - demo (as above) Goatsnake - Flower of.../Dog Days (so angry these guys are over) Melvins - Bullhead (can't get enough of this album/band) Hawkwind - Psychadelic Warlords (best of - have to get more of this stuff - pretty trippy) Alice in Chains - Dirt/Jar of Flies (I must have been depressed) Fugazi - In on the Kill Taker (The old Fugazi - there is no other)
...And I'm seeing Warped tonight! Yeh!!

F_Rock just reminded about Shellac and how cool they are so I've been listening to Terraform and 1000 Hurts today. Yesterday was mainly the Sonic's based on someone's advice here (goo maybe), also listening to High On Fire a bit and the new Filler CD.

Boltthrower - Honour Valour Pride (every BT album is kickass - definitely can recommend em) Qotsa - Songs for the deaf (its like R, some great tracks and seemingly a lot of filler too, maybe it'll grow on me) 5ive- Telestic Disfracture (no, not the boy band hehe) Church of Misery - Master of Brutality (biggg riffs) and Kreator - Extreme Aggression (classic album, heavy as...well, heavy as stuff that weighs a lot!)

You gave the Sonics a burl Jeb? Yeah, that was me.
Not much Stoner in my recent playlist: Radio Birdman - 'Radios Appear' & 'Living Eyes' Citadel reissues after the recent shows, great gigs too. The Monarchs - 'make yer own fun' CD, very cool MC5 styled power pop. Cog - 'pseudo', which is a demo cd of the 'Just Visiting' sessions. M-Sixteens 7" 'losin' time' (I think) single, great Perth detroit rock. The Monks - 'black monk time' CD, 60's US Occupying Forces ex-Servicemen gone bad. The Stooges - '1969', 'Funhouse' & 'Raw Power'
