Ned Kelly - pretty cool, nothing special but another good aussie effort, like the scenery, etc.
Finding Nemo - I'm a sucker for cartoons so I really liked this.
Brain Dead - "I kick arse for the Lord!"
Matrix Reloaded - what womper said about the Matrix applies, but with more fight scenes, more slow motion and more rotating camera stuff. Good chewing gum just the same.
The Two Towers - huge.
Batman cartoon episodes from series one - I really like this cartoon.

Writhe: i liked Monsoon wedding.... a very voyeuristic approach to story-telling... not much dialog... just observation....
and i liked Ned Kelly, Adam. I had just finished reading a biography on Ned when the film came out.... oh... and the beards were just great!

yeah monsoon wedding was alright
on a similar note:
i hate the fact that all these people seem to think that bend it like beckham was ground breaking
i think i've seen about 10 movies exactly like that before

Yeah the beards were pretty spectactular.
I watched the Animatrix last night. All I have to say about that is it's fucking weird. As a friend of mine said I think you need to buy the lunchbox before you'll get it.

Ditto to what Writhe said about "Bend it Like Beckham". It was a fun movie but nothing groundbreaking. The story of a migrant family's stuggle to keep their children interested in the family's heritage vs the children's desire to immerse themself in the culture of the adopted country. Seen it a million times.

yerp, and it pisses me off when people say it was ground breaking...
i wonder what kind of movies they normally see to consider it ground breaking

One day in September. on SBS last night, about the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage/terrorist crisis. Best doco i've seen in ages.
Just bought the Filth & the Fury on DVD and thought it was bloody good.
Unfortunately got suckered in & bought the new Magic Dirt album on the premise that it had a bonus dvd. Now i thought the Queens bonus DVD was good (a bit short), but the M.D. dvd was a complete waste of shiny plastic stuff. Consisted of home movies, virtually unedited. Completly forgettable. (only OK stuff was a few live songs for some cable show) Definitely a case of buyer beware.

Yeah I watched that too, it was very interesting. Love the staged hijacking. www.specialoperations.com/Counterterrorism/munich_ct.htmThat is a thesis written by some American student at a Military college in America about the Mossad's response to the hostage taking. Basically they sent out teams to assasinate any Palestinians they could find who were in any way involved with the Munich thing. Good reading.

took the squids to see Finding Nemo - not bad..... better than Lilo & Stitch, not as good as Shrek, same par as Ice Age....
also rented Michael Moore's Awful Truth - Complete Second Season... this has the episode where he runs a ficus tree in an election and bloody well wins!
