had the opportunity to watch Michael Moore's first doco 'Roger & Me' last night. 'twas great! the issue here is General Motors and how they've laid Flint, Michigan bare due to unprecedented and unjustified mass lay-offs and factory closures, moving the work to Mexico where they can pay workers a fraction of the what they do in the US. An awesome demonstration of how corporate decisions have a direct link to a single mother being evicted from her house for not paying rent.....
and he's got such a knack of allowing ppl to make idiots of themselves..... ha ha ha!

Another Day in Paradise - road film by Larry Clark, as only he knows how
Endangered Species - great overlooked scifi/conspiracy flick from 1982, which ties in to the contemporary el Chupacabra cattle mutilation fiascos. Good bit o fun.

Watched The Matrix for the first time ever yesterday.... and what piece of absolutley tripe!
I'm not averse to sci-fi (my fave film is Bladerunner and I'm a fan of Orwell), but this highly adored film just sucks beyond comprehension.
The story line was minimal at best and unoriginal at worst! A vague, arty-farty theory does not a good sci-fi film make. "The world has no structure, your reality is only your perception..." has been done in a million b-grade films previously. The only difference with The Matrix is it's budget.
The monotoned Morpheus is not enigmatic. I cannot see Keanu Reeves without thinking 'whoa... dude!" - ala Bill and Ted!
absolute tripe!
On the same night I also watched Eminem's '8 Mile' which I ashamed to say whips The Matrix's arse. Whilst self-promoting and ego as all hell... at least i was given a glimpse of a suburban culture i otherwise do not expect to experience.

fucking spot on on the matrix and bananu, wompy. he ruined dracula IMO recent vids: The Salton Sea - fucking awesome performance by Vincent Donofrio as per usual Death to Smoochy - again. love that film. The Hard Word - Surprisingly good, aussy flick. top notch performances, great script, great acting. Spiderman - better than i thought it'd be, probably due to the fact that i didn't know Raimi directed it, and of course Bruce Campbell got a cameo ;D One Hour Photo - pretty damn good, another top notch effort by Robin Williams Adaptation - awesome. worth another watch. I've gotta say, I haven't seen a really bad film in a while. Probably because I keep renting films Ive already seen
