COCKFIGHT SHOOTOUT, STIFF MEAT, MILKMAID @ Empress Hotel, 6/9/02 Hmmm....stiffcockmilk? Now that's new... I caught Milkmaid during their second song, and they were rockin'. More people should check these guys out!! Some cool blues-rock riffs, tight songs and great, distinctive vocals. They played a rockin' set and impressed a lot of people, including myself. These guys are going places. Stiff Meat were up next, and to be honest, I've seen them better. There were some cool riffs, but altogether it sounded a bit too sludgy. I know that they can pull it off, it just didn't happen on Friday. Some *interesting* lyrics and song titles too... By the time Cockfight Shootout played the place was packed. They played a great set and as it was their EP launch, all of their 'hits.' I saw stacks of people leaving with a CD afterwards, a definite crowd pleaser (if you don't beleive me, check out all the other merch they sold too.) Cockfight are a great band - heavy rock riffs with good vocals, minus the egos. 'White Line,' what a cool song...love yer work guys *and the whole team played well*

;D, So you had a good night Nerdgirl. That is indeed what I like to hear, it makes my day really. Too many beers I hear you say, nah it was the beer I find that in most establishments. bottleshops and the like that they are guilty of selling alcohol that must be off or have something wrong with it otherwise why do we all feel so rotten in the morning/afternoon/whenever the hell we awake... Or did it possess you to make an idiot of yourself? If so it is still O.K. because Janes Addiction taught us that idiots rule, otherwise after this last weeks 4 day beer fest why was myself and two other trashy scumbags playing air guitar and and old beaten up relic with rusty strings in the middle of the main road? I do recall that we were performing a cover of "Touch Me I'm Sick" (because we could still hear the stereo from the road) and it somehow by the sheer magic of alcohol became rewritten as "Get Fucked You Pricks"...evidentally our first and last gig was shut down after 6 songs (or the same one progressively worse than the last played 6 times) by irrate neighbours. Oh well alcohol, funny thing that stuff...

. Yeah, fuck I just read that Slatts. Where was my head at??? Had a real jam with those two boys again last night on great pills. We taped it on a dictaphone and it sounding like the most chaotic shambles I've heard in a long time. Unashamedly sloppy and scrappy sounding the worst sound ever...and we love it. We are now a band I'll let you all know more as it develops we are kicking around names at the moment and have it down to 3-4...sorry I'm still sky high and raving shit. Traces of Nut tonight@Unibar 8:00 ;D...yay! Figurines (unplugged Dropping Honey@ The Hideaway Cafe ;D yay again! Much alcohol and substance indulgence......yeee haaa
