cool, can't wait to see 'em i thought that their 'last-ever-show' was in warrnambool? let's hope that they don't do any 'once-only' reunion gigs like the meanies did a couple of years ago (and they're still playing - i want my $15 back!!!)

;D.Ha! Ha! The Meanies are funny like that aren't they nerdgirl. The last time proper I saw them (Dee Dee wasn't with them last time so it doesn't count). They played at a place in the Gong called Waves. I can't really remember who else played...ohhh the Celibate Rifles thats right. Yeah so the Meanies turn up already tanked and I think Adalita (Magic Dirt) was seeing one of the Meanies guys at the time because she was there too, and at this point in the story I can't remember what I was doing back stage (Waves is pretty big venue)...thats right my memory is starting to work again. We were there because our friends Evol were playing. Anyhow we are all hyped for this Meanies set been drinking and waiting all day and then their on stage they have just played "Scum" and then Link Meanie has thrown his microphone at Dee Dee Meanie and knocked him cold and thats the end of the set... Two and a half songs thats the last time I saw the Meanies...They did come back and charged $10 (You got ripped off $5 ;D) but it wasn't the same....Ohh yeah this thread was about Dern Ruttldge. So they aren't heading North for a last show, tear to the eye for a lot of fans I would say . Not I though as Robert Smith said all those years ago. Boys Don't Cry...

, Yeah it was kind of cool. I mean I was soooo fucking pissed. the funniest thing I remember is going to the bar because someone told me it was going to shut so I've said I'll have $10 Schooners thanks and they poured them and then the guy asked for my money and it took me a few seconds to realise that he wanted me to give him money so I look in my wallet and there was maybe 15c. This guy standing next to me thought it was so hilarious that he payed for them all and still let me have them, although I'm sure I gave most of them away. Now that does not happen everyday. I kind of forgot I was watching the Sex Pistols about halfway through and just started wondering. They did play good I guess. It sounded like their albums but I think I would probably get more excited about seeing P.I.L. I mean at least Jah Wobble is still alive. C'mon Sex Pistols without Sid Vicious it's just not quite right, still like you said they were in it for the money which I'm sure they got so good on them. Go the old farts!

Anyone know the Dern guys? V, perhaps you'd like to comment on whether you reckon they'd play more than one farewell gig. My guess is that the Tote show would be the one and only, so interstate fans might wanna plan a little trip across the Rio Grande.
