Here's a band that has dropped off the radar lately. I remember reading something about them recording a new album and touring in September. I've just checked out their site (it's back up!!) and it confirms this. Anyone know if they still plan to come down south?

The guys did do some gigs down in New South Wales at the snow fields about 3 weeks ago. As Jeb said it is expected that the album will be out in October.
From what I have heard of the album it is quite different to 'Lost in Space' which was released well over two years ago now.

I 've heard an unmastered version of the new album Less than impressed.....more straight up 70's rock n roll but not in a good way.... The new Giants of Science blew my balls off ....great songs, catchy vocals

Yeah I agree Troy, when I heard the giants record, it was unmastered but was sounding very cool, I only heard a few songs off the Rollerball album and they won't to bad but not as good as lost in space.

I have to agree that the new Giants is pretty awesome. They spent a fair bit of time recording the album. They actually ran out of studio booking time down at Rockinghorse Studio and had to finish the vocal off here in Brisbane.
As for Rollerball they were really aiming for something different this time around. I guess that whole lo-fi, yob 70's rock is really their thing at the moment. It is a big move away from Lost In Space but I will reserve my full judgement until I have heard the mastered version of the album.

that's a shame writhe - don't lose faith in the ball!!!!
I think that the new album will definately be something different but i'm not so sure that it will a bad thing! while lost in space was a killer release, they just seem to be taking a different approach and i guess people need to respect that!
I'll wait till i hear it tho and then decide.

I just listened to the whole album today for the first time and also the whole Giants album mastered for the first time and Rollerball are definitely a different band to that who delivered Lost In Space. The album's not to bad if youlisten to what they are doing now and forget what they were doing three years ago.
Having said that I am much more into the Giants disc and I'm liking it more each listen.
