QUECIA Quecia II (Deep End) Classic rock, ala the radio tunes of the late seventies/early eighties is nary to be heard of today outside the regional pub circuit. And understandably so. For while the aforementioned time period did offer up some classic Bob Seger, Cheap Trick and Heart, it’s a horse best left dead. As evidenced clearly on Quecia’s second offering, aptly titled Quecia II. Now, that’s not to say this UK quartet are devoid of talent as musicians, rather just the middle-aged, middle-of-the-road market is not what I where I choose to spend my time and energy. Rockin’ guitar, with Dire Straits-like leads is the driving force behind this album, with vocalist Kirsty McCarrick sounding like a feminine Jon Bon Jovi, and the rhythm section a little loose for the genre. Mediocre at best, aged at worst, either way Quecia would be hard pressed finding a solid, young audience, appealing rather to 40-somethings at the bowling club and a few drinks under their belts.
