MOTHER MARS Mother Mars (Demo)
This demo is a very raw, under-produced sludgy mess, but the fuzzed-out low down, bottom heavy swinging grooves still manage to speak volumes. ‘All Away’ tends toward simple groove rock structures, formed out of dirty guitar riffs and plenty of fuzzed out wah-wah bluesy leads. Featuring some laid back emotive vocals, ‘Falling’ is a propulsive, lumbering desert riff rock excursion. The raspy vocals are dynamic and sit well over loose drumming and steadily chugging grooves, which wind through a few subtle tempo changes and lift the tune out of its monotonous state. This four-piece may be mining the stoner vein a little too deeply at the moment, but give these young guys some time and they just might have a win.
