i think we are fine except for the lack of a good medium-large venue since festival hall is gone...
queens have to play at the convention centre... way too up market. it's not going to have the right feel.

I just heard last night that Brissy's best blues/blues rock venue - the Melbourne Hotel is also about to be overrun by a heap more Pokies and will no longer be booking bands

I've lived in both Sydney and Melbourne and by far and away, for pure venues and support of bands Melbourne is better. You may as well be banging your head against a brick wall if you want to play in Sydney regularly.
Agree with Jeb on the weather though, once you've spent 25 years of your life living on the coast Melbourne is a bit of a culture shock.....you soon find other things to do though, like drinking more and watching bands more ;D

just got back from sydney... and man i hate that place! everytime i go there i come back feeling really dirty....
as Killing Joke was cancelled a scanned the Drum Media for a gig i could go to instead - twas all shite! naught of interest whatsoever....
