...so I wake up with "No Sense" still churning through my brain and decide damnit I need more this is not enough I'm off to The Excelsior to do it again. They revamped tthis place apparently i.e. they put a couple of red curtains up...yeah nice. I love your work,
Angel Nine I think they were called did the opening thing. Their singer had an O.K. voice there was some cool riff that sprung up based on harmonics and I payed attention to that and then a tiny voice in my head screamed "Give us the Monstrous fucking Blues already"...so I drank a beer and then The Blues did play and they were as on fire as they were the night before, maybe even more so who can tell. They played a good portion of their e.p. as well as a couple of newish tunes which were really pumping and I hope are going to be on their album when it comes out.
There were these guys up the front who looked like they were trapped in 1985 and that Motley Crue were the biggest band in the world and they wanted Jay to take his shirt off. I liked The Blues too, but give us a big heavy riff anytime I don't need to see Jay with his shirt off, c'mon guys I think you got the wrong venue, there are strippers up the road apparently so jump back on your scooters (psedo-harleys and git)....Another beer, Legends of Motorsport were heaps better tonight more suited to the smallness of the Excelsior. They were more animated and heaps more into it. Seemed a little unaccastomed to Sydney audiences standing back and clapping politely after each tune but I suppose you get use to it. They played all of "Beef With Cheese" except "Rx7" of course and that drove me insane because it's probably my favourite tune on the disc...oh well. There was this other tune I remember from the night before that they played again which may be called "Dinner and a Show". That was cool. They finished playing and we purchased merchandise (I scored a cool 7" Single), we drove home and we saw a fire near Bexley which was fucking going off and we got to stop for munchies at the servo....Now I have but one more question. Is it enough, have I had enough rock this week. We have been on the go since Thursday, yet some tiny voice at the back of my mind still insists in it's greedy little unsatisfied manor. "Go on son you can do it! you must go to Bizzo's and witness this rock and roll show again and you know something I think I just might! ;D
