HOW MACHINES WORK Pilot Error EP (Independent) HMW001
This is a delightful little three track-EP from a three-piece from New South Wales called How Machines Work. Confident, unaffected and thoughtful, they have done a great job with this. It's Triple J friendly rock - not super fast or super heavy - but it does have class written all over it. Something For Kate is one possible stylistic reference point, although they have a tad more grunt in the guitars. Three strong songs from a band with an obvious knack for song writing, an ear for quality production, and the enthusiasm to make it all work.

at this point i should mention that the reviewer (Matt) was unaware of any High Beam involvement prior to reviewing the disc - ensuring a balanced and non-biased review....
