It may sound hypocritical of me to criticise such a porn-oriented release, to condemn the objectification of women, when The Sound Monitor uses a caricature of a half naked female as it’s logo. But I think it’s safe to say that the distance between the two is a chasm.
So, as is obvious by the title, this compilation is 26 tracks worth of sex and rock n’ roll. One look at the band names and song titles is a good indication of whether this is something up your alley. There’s Porn Rock’s ‘Porn Star’, Dog Shit Boys’ ‘1 Minute Fuck’, Skum’s ‘Slut’, and Sagger’s ‘The Closest I’ve Ever Come To Fucking Myself’.
The little I was prepared to listen didn’t seem altogether terrible. A lot of old school, drunken, upbeat rock, akin to what is commonly found on A Fistful of Rock n’ Roll comps.
Certainly not my thing, but hey, diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks.
