they will try and blame everything bad that happens on terrorism now. it's a bit of a joke. why would they care about derailing a train on its way to port kembla while it travels thru the national park?

when i first turned on the news and saw the columbia explosion it was from one of those CNN resources that had text scrolling along the bottom of the screen while the talking head yabbered on. anyway the text said something to the tune of no obvious signs of terrorist activity had caused the space shuttles explosion. and i thought to myself.... what a wank?! typical america having tickets on itself thinking that they're the bloody forefront of everyones minds all the bloody time.

Even if things aren't blamed on terrorists, they are associated. The bushfires for example, channel 9's little graphic window on the news the other night was captioned "Summer TERROR". I mean, sure they are bad and everything - even terrifying, but do they really have to relate it to terrorists and play on everyone's paranoia?
Ahhh sweet sensationalism.

I've just been advised that there will be a anti-terrorism booklet arriving in my letterbox anyday now and that the best course of action would be to write return to sender on it and put it back in the box....
Will anything that "Return To Sender" references Elvis can't be that bad I figure. Kinda curious as to what rubbish it might contain though...

Yeah I agree Adam, the media are trying to use the 'terror' word in anything, John Howard also uses the word in basically every speach he delivers at the moment.

Yeah, did you hear little monkey faced Johnny make that statement for the canberra fires? Something along the line of... 'The tradgedy of the TERROR of these fires has been little more than a PRE EMTIVE distaster for canberrians alike. Fuck stick. He is obssesed with terror (what ever that means), war and every little thing that good ol GB jnr does. He's gotta go. Anyone know where I can get a 22? ;D Linking TERROR with the Columbia (RIP) disaster? bloody americans (with respect to all americans). Although, every plane crash, explosion of some kind, there is something in the back of my head that says MABIE it could be deliberate of some kind.

Johnny has obviously been to the 'American screwdriver' (a hammer) marketing strategy: If you flog something enough people will eventually buy it.
They anti-terrorism kit or whatever it's called talks about the 'current state of world affairs' and all that crap, probably throws Saddam's name into every second paragraph shortly after mentioning the Great Beast, and tells us we all should stock a torch, a first aid kit, and some other crap that if you really think about will do absolutely fuck all when GWB nods off with his finger poised above The Button and sends us all into oblivion.

I sought of feel that doing the return to sender thing is just wasting more taxpayers money and it's just poor people in mailrooms that have to deal with it.
An I'm curious to see what's in it, should be a laugh. Why will we need torches when we'll all have a Mr Burns style 'healthy green glow'.

I agree on that Jeb, it's a waste of money to send in the first place but it's just a waste of even more money sending it back. And it is all our money that we're wasting. Agreed they shouldn't have done it in the first place, but sending it back isn't going to fix anything. Sending it back with some anthrax might, however.

While not exactly terrorism, this story linked below points to sabotage on the train derailment, still strange why a train travelling from Sydney to Wollongong at that hour would be targeted, and also the witness accounts were all saying it sped up which doesn't make a lot of sense. www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/02/07/1044579933567.html

Well, the 'Be alert but not alarmed' ( ) came through the other day. and MAN! is it a crock of bollucks. This kind of campaigning reminds me of the stand off between the US and Russia in the 50's (cold war). All that propaganda news reel you see now and then to get down low and hide in the bath tub (or something) about a neuclear blast. Its the same bloody thing. And thinking little Johnny thinks that its not directed toward middle eastern people.... He says its not. But shit like this... as bad as it sounds... Who do you think the average jo blo Sheryl and Nathan are going to look out for? Swedes!?
