Cockfight Shootout - Self Titled (ind) Reviewed by Matt Frighetto
Cockfight Shootout are a four piece from Melbourne, Australia and these guys come at you full rock ahead!! I have yet to see these guys in action, but I bet they rock. This four-track demo cd has two studio tracks and two live tracks. I really like this shit heaps, they remind me of a cross between Dern Rutledge and Finland’s Sunride, you can expect full blow rock action from these guys!! Cool power cords and flowing drums that make you wanna drive and drive in true hard rock fashion. Keenan's vocals are fantastic and create a great feel to the music, these guys have some really rocking changes and I feel that the two guitarists work well with each both on the studio tracks and live tracks. Track listings are: Popin’ Planets White Line Fever Stock Standard (live) Demon dreaming (live)
I look forward to checkin’ these guys out real soon and anyone in Melbourne get your ass out to see them!! Great stuff Slatts keep the good stuff rollin... email - cockfight_shootout@hotmail.com

Yeah I was at the gig on Saturday night at the Tote - and might I say I enjoyed it very much. The music was cool as and played well. Huge riffs too, the last riff in the last track you guys played was killer. The only known band I could really compare your stuff too would be Roadsaw, in that on the whole the music was very 'rock' and would then quite often bust out into a more menacing riff.
