the giants of science were fucking lame. as soon as i thought they were getting it together they'd break into yet another soft-cock, verging on melody type number. oh dear...this is indeed a 'fucking lame' comment... perhaps their 'soft-cock-melody-types' is their originality and what people appreciate most about the band...i reckon they should stick to their guns and not be swayed into the 'ballsy' arena...there's enough of that goin on... i was really impressed by their set actually and i think they were quite heavy the whole way through the set, particularly their new songs...love the harmonies happening with guitars and vocals...they do it very nicely...timid joe were the best i've seen 'em yet i reckon....cool show everyone!

i dont really know what the problem is, giants are normally pretty heavy live, and its cool how they can bring the feel down for a moment just to hit you with some fat riffs again. it kinda adds mood to there music. i missed them at the arthouse, and havent heard there new stuff, but every other time that ive seen them ive been impressed damn right they should stick to there guns, or else they'll just be another band trying to please the market and eventualy sucking arse, (insert insult to slatts here)

AND AGAIN "The corporate music machine is sharpening it's teeth on the bones of bands it has destroyed in the past, and preparing itself for the "new rock" feast. It'll gorge itself on any half talented bands it can find, and then move on...back to r & b where it belongs"
OMG thats the best thing I've ever read on a message board. Too good for the small print quote and good enough to be posted on every rock site in the world.
Fleshpeddler you're my idol !

GOS weren't bad but you're right Maxi-Power, Timid Joe is the band that I'd travel to see. Too bad I didn't get there in time to see aspasia, I've never seen them before. What are they like?

nerd girl, i agree with your comment that what i disliked about GoS many people may have indeed appreciated. That's the beauty of having a brain, so you can think for yourself and like what you like. I realise now what an uproar my 'fucking lame' comment has caused, and believe me, i'm fucking sorry! I have a tendency to overreact. it's really a translation problem, meaning the translation of my thoughts in to words. Its' all part of the fun of being a social retard. Also, you must understand that the word 'fucking' to me, carries about the same momentum as 'a bit' , so ergo, you could say i thought GoS were 'a bit' lame. this no doubt, is a reflection of my poor taste in music.

Hey Jen, just because you caused a 'bit' of a stir (or a fucking stir as the case may be) with your opinion of the GOS does'nt mean you have to justify it by calling it 'a reflection of your poor taste in music'. There is nothing wrong with your taste in music just because you didn't enjoy a certain band. I think it's fucked that people jump on others backs, attacking their opinions and coercing their views to fit the 'norm'. Stick to your guns and express yourself with as many 'fucks' as you deem necessary. ;D

Greetings ! The giants gig at the Arthouse was rockin. Aspasia are an awesome band. Great songs and they could teach the Spazzys a thing or three. Fort Mary put on a good show. First time I've seen Timid Joe, best band I've seen in a fuck of a long time. Then came the Giants, apart from the Michael Bolton look alike, they were pretty cool.
