Grind’s not dead, and TFD should bloody-well know. Featuring ex-Brutal Truth skinsman Rich Hoak, this New York trio pulverize with demented blasts, razor sharp riffing and vocals that come off as a hardcore Tom Waits.
This 8 track, free download demo is phenomenal not only in it’s speed and aggression but also in it’s creativity. Grind can be dull when not done right. A lot of the newer breed mix it up with jazz to prove some technical proficiency. TFD on the other hand break the blasts and screams up with whispered, dramatic moments.
The raw production that found it’s way into the Brutal Truth camp exists here, cheap and nasty in all its humble glory.
Along with a DRI cover, tracks zip by with nary a pause for breath. Almost anti-political, TFD look at global annihilation as inevitable, and thus a strange concoction of anger and apathy exists.
