Is it a Myth or Not?? Just curious to see if anyone has gotten this or at least seen it?? It would be nice to know what it looks and sounds like being we haven't even gotten our copies yet.

;D. 2nd of September apparently Patrick. I haven't see the artwork as yet but I've heard the disc and it's fucking great. Vintage sounds meet modern zest. Yeah, I think it will get a few Magnet comparisons but I think it has a more classic feel too it. I love the "acid freakout" sequence in the last track. Man, I heard that really earl one morning and it scared fuck out of me. I love it!!

Glad you guys are digging it!! Jeb gave me a call last nite and gave me the rundown. That was cool of him..... He said things are in order now. Im supposed to get our copies by wed!!!!!! hopefully more people dig it as much as you spectator.

I just got an advance of this which doesn't even have the song titles, although I guess the actual HighBeam CD is finding its way into stores, at least in Australia.
I've been heavily into Volume for years, ever since hearing their contributions to comps. like the Misfits tribute and Underdogma's 'Judge Not.' Nobody does acid casualty metal like Volume!
Well, its still true, and then some. Volume have obviously been influenced by Blue Cheer and the MC5; those are obvious reference points. I also hear alot of stoner fringe-dwellers 500 Feet of Pipe in 'Requesting Permission to Land' as well. But lest you think this is some kind of formulaic regurgitation fest, I also hear some 80s SST influence in here; stuff these guys probably grew up on, like St. Vitus or Wurm. How's that for a killer roster of influences?
Scott Reeder, now of Fu, spanks the drums on this disc. Damn, he sounds good! Bandmeister Patrick Brinks provides the rather personal lyrics, vocals, and alot of the guitar. This guy just shreds, thats all there is to it!
Volume is why you got into stoner rock in the 90s. Its hard, edgey, psychedelic as hell, and shows a complete lack of pretension. Its packed with druggy goodness from start to finish!

How cool is the frakout bit in the middle of "Headswim" (oh sorry boys and girls, the epic last track) I played that on my radio show on Tuesday to an unsuspecting bunch of listeners. Who am I kidding they (the listeners) are probably a little bit use to the strange shit I play by now.

I totally agree with you both, excellent EP this one. A wild ride of rock, the way it should be played. Hasn't left my player in a couple of weeks and stands out from the crowd.
I really hope these guys make it down to Oz soon and I'll be looking out for any more material.

Hey, I finally recieved our copies of the Cd the other day!!!! Im pretty stoked being this is our first CD release....anyways The inserts were mistakenly left out so anyone who already has a copy email me and let me know. Ill be sure to get you an insert. Jebs making sure they are going to be in all the other ones. Its not that huge of a deal, but you know it completes the package the way it was intended.
keep the reviews coming being over in the US its hard to know what people are thinking.
