All I can say is Faaaaaark! These guys have come a long way since I last saw them, which wasnt too long ago... They have really tuned in to their 'dirty rock' roots. Twas a cool line up, starting with local band, Lalatoa, featuring Raymond (singer from The Stalkers) up front, then moving along to Brace, also a Sydney act. Both bands putting on a fine display of high volume riffs. I have to say, Forte have picked up a few new fans in the short period of time since I last saw them play at the Excelsior. The place was chockers!!! And rightly so. They came on stage to a luke warm crowd and heated them up with the fattest sounding 'sabbath' intro, and then kept firing hard with a few of the new album tracks with the drummer pounding his kit so hard, I thought he was gonna put a hole in each skin! After their brutal start to the set, they kind of rocked it out a little with their radio track, 'Skychaser' and built on that vibe for a while. Not for too long though....... the chunky riffs started to flow and the shirts came off, fuckin 'rock stars'... The guys all moved real well on stage and seemed to not miss a beat, very entertaining, very loud. Andy, the singer, seemed to be havin a good time, with a smile on his face throughout the set. And just when I thought that it was all over, the guys came out and instigated their own encore...... very fuckin rock.....jesus. I am sure that the next show in Sydney will be even huger.... and I will be there!
