First up were Silencer, who proved to offer an interesting selection of originals ranging in style from metallica/slayer thrash to more bass heavy and one particularly doom-y change, they suffered from a slight lack of cohesion, both rhythmically and texturally.
Next up were forte, with some new songs, nice tight riffs and sounding very 'together', if not drifting into some real AC/DC territory with their 2nd to last tune. Firing on all cylinders this evening, the best i had seen them. Their live sound, to me, is more engrossing than their cd. DEfinitely one to watch, apparetly forte have already chalked up a european tour with Ozzy Ozbourne!
Rollerball hit the stage, their singer ten pin sporting a more respectable head of hair than the crewcut he sported on his their last visit to the North Coast. As always, the 'ball reaLly seem to enjoy being onstage - there is not a touch of pretension in the air as they punched out a few oldies, plus the usual bunch of tracks i'd never heard before.
Though a bit fuzzy now, I distinctly recall having a ripper of an evening, despite chundering furiously when i got home, and hope to see bands of this calibre seeing better crowds in the area over the new year.
