Great show.
I only saw about half of Forte's set, but it was enough to convince me to buy both of their cd's at the merch table. Had never seen or heard these guys before but I loved them. They had a bit of a Monster Magnet/Kyuss vibe to my ear. The lead singer even looked a bit like Dave Wyndorf.
The Fu were great. They played my fave songs (Boogie Van and Hell on Wheels) so that kept me happy. Must confess though that by the time they got around to the encore it was beginning to feel very same-y, but I guess that's the Fu for you.
Overall, a top night.

it was the first time i had seen forte and i thought they were excellent! - very solid grooooovy rock. bought their EP and new single, which has the video of 'skychaser' on it too. i think theyre playing in sydney again in a few weeks, so im gonna go back and see them again. very good stuff. i even got a drumstick signed by their drummer (funnily enough) - i was very impressed with his drumming skills. and ofcourse fu were excellent too - their new drummer is amazing (in my eyes). i was on the barrier getting killed by a bunch of psychotic 18 year old boys, luckily no stray feet to the head tho.
all good ;D

I think I saw you there herstrut but I was too lazy to push my way to front to say hi.
Forte were great weren't they? I'm really digging their cd's as well - been listening to them all day at work. Do you know when and where they'll be playing because I'll be there for sure.
And that new Fu drummer was awesome. Loved his drum solo near the end. I love a 70's inspired drum solo, hehe. It almost made me forget how bummed I was about not seeing Brant Bjork behind the kit.

Ohhhhh hell yeah, cant wait for Fu tommorrow night down in cold and wet Melbourne. I've seen Forte a couple of times and yeah.... they good! I see what you're saying about the Dave Wyndorf look but I can't say they really remind me of Monster.

AWESOME! And I see 'em tomorrow night!!!
Did they play any old stuff? Godzilla? Ojo Rojo? Pigeon Toe? Missing Link? Regal Begal? (Now I'm just dreaming)
Forte are great - good pick on the Magnet comparison, they've got one tune that sounds like the verse(?) is lifted straight out of a Magnet tune. Great performers with solid tunes! I think the front man's trying not only to look like Wyndorf but sing like him too. Totally original dance moves though!!

Was it just Forte supporting? Does that mean they kicked off really early?
Radio Birdman came on at 10:20 after D4 started at 9:00!! Too early - just not rock. Killer fuckin show though!!!!

Yeah I thought they played a pretty cool set that took in a bit of older stuff which was cool.Older songs I remember were Asphalt Rising, something off Daredevil, forget what, a few songs of action is go. Brant is one of my favourite drummers but they lost NOTHING with Scott there, he was awesome. Forte were great to, a lot better than previous times I've seen them.
